For the entire state of Wisconsin, the ability to lookup court cases is processed through the CCAP and the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access website. This is with the exception of court cases filed in Milwaukee county courts. There is a separate link that is used by CCAP Wisconsin Milwaukee county filed court cases can be accessed. Accessing the CCAP Wisconsin Milwaukee
When accessing the Consolidated Court Automation Programs and the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access the public is able to find information on cases filed in Wisconsin Circuit Courts. This could be for criminal, civil, family, traffic, and/or probate cases that are filed in the circuit courts of Wisconsin. The link to access this information is https://wcca.wicourts.gov/case.html. Searches can be performed by case number, party or business names, and attorney information. If you wish to narrow down the search or refine the search results, you can include advanced search information.
This information includes the following:
Date of birth
The date the court case was filed
The date the court case was disposed of
The citation number
The district attorney case number
The issuing agency
The offense date
The class code
The charge type
You can also perform a statewide search or select the county that you wish to perform the search if known. For example, if you know that the case was filed and uploaded through the CCAP Wisconsin Milwaukee County case management system, then you would select Milwaukee for the county search.
Cases Types Available on the CCAP and WCCA
Cases that you will not find by accessing the WCCA, are cases that are not accessible in accordance with the Wisconsin Open records law. These cases include cases involving juveniles, expunged cases, cases that have been sealed, and/or cases that have been dismissed or considered acquitted and it has been more than 2 years since the final order entry date of the case. The case information that the public has access to using the WCCA is what has been entered into the case management system by the county circuit court clerks.

If you are needing additional information regarding a court case or if you need copies of a CCAP Wisconsin Milwaukee court case, then you would need to contact the Milwaukee county clerk of the circuit court to obtain this information. The courts can be accessed from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. There is a customer service window that the copies can be obtained from as long as the files are not located offsite. Older files are located offsite and need additional processing time to complete the records request.
